We both enjoy passing back and forth videos like this to each other because my dad is half-deaf through early military training, and one of his cousins in England has the same implant device as you. Your video captured for me the amazement of suddenly hearing again.

The next time I saw you was on Ellen, and I was so happy that you would be able to have the second implant done, and your mother-in-law's kind gesture rewarded. That video makes me a bit teary-eyed too.

I hope all is going very well with you and yours.
Jelly
CanadaJellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02723726090782424369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6517194010289860677.post-79703636503262550522012-09-05T06:15:32.817-07:002012-09-05T06:15:32.817-07:00I came by your youtube video by accident and I was...I came by your youtube video by accident and I was really touched and I am so happy for you! I am scheduled to have my Esteem implant surgery on October 4, 2012 at Henry Ford Hospital in West Bloomfield, Michigan. I am from Burlington, Ontario Canada. I can't wait to see your interview with Diane Sawyer. I am told that your hearing loss is similar to mine. I simply can't wait for the activation which will probably be in November 2012 sometime. I don't have the date yet. Good luck on your new book! I will be looking for it! God bless you, Sarah!

Karen Mulrooney (retired)
Burlington, Ontario CanadaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6517194010289860677.post-91335459899374843372012-09-01T04:34:52.975-07:002012-09-01T04:34:52.975-07:00Congratulations to you and your family. Sometimes we take things for granted. Your story is a reminder that the simple things in life, like: our family and our hearing are so very precious.

Aloha,

Jason C.
Honolulu Police (retired)Jason C.https://www.blogger.com/profile/05843156534977273556noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6517194010289860677.post-58826083016586768762012-08-27T15:12:21.176-07:002012-08-27T15:12:21.176-07:00I've got my copy reserved!!! I am a sound engineer by passion and the world of sound in all of its beauty has always intrigued me. I went partially deaf for about a month this past winter due to a double ear infection, so I have maybe a small inkling of what you must be feeling with your new implants. Keep up the good work and God bless you!Nickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16158673175556669933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6517194010289860677.post-85981717599933590102012-08-26T18:04:14.214-07:002012-08-26T18:04:14.214-07:00My daughter-in-law was implanted this past spring....My daughter-in-law was implanted this past spring. Her experience sent me in search of what she was experiencing. Brought me here. Thank you for sharing your journey. (She's doing fine -- although she was surprised that her teen daughter 1) had a shrill voice; 2) never, ever quit talking.) We are blessed.Phyllis Blickensderferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03206757687699759551noreply@blogger.com
